A friend told me that NYCOM offers conditional acceptances. He thinks this is some form of a summer program whereby students take basic science courses. If a student does well in this program, he/she will be allowed to matriculate into the D.O. program.

If any of you know of such program(s), please share this information.

My application is still under review and I will call this Mon to check status and to find out more about this program.

Yep, NYCOM does offer conditional acceptances. It is really meant for disadvantaged/minority applications who may be weak in their academics but have the potential in succeeding in med school. Usually, you take a reduced course load for your 1st year. If you can pass these 4-6 courses, you are accepted into the following years class as an advanced standing student.

Hope this info helps.
