I have heard that Step 1/Comlex are focused more on year 2 courses (ie path, micro, pharm) rather than phys, biochm, anat etc from year 1. And I have heard that the tests represent both years pretty equal.

Can any share there thoughts/experiences or facts regarding what is emphasized on the boards?

Thanks

Ok, after typing out my queston, i realized there was a simliar question posted just below mine!

Let me then change my question to specifically the COMLEX then as the USMLE question was already answered on another thread.

Most of the people in my class had a majority of their test covered by micro, pharm and OMM. There are hardly any straight pathology questions, I had 3 and all were easy cardiac pathology. Most people had maybe 1-3 biochem questions and not much phys. My testing experience was totally different. My test was hardly any micro or OMM, lots of pharm and lots of neuro. I had much more phys and biochem than others had. Based on this, it would be safe to say a majority of my classmates testing experiences focused more on micro, pharm, and OMM. But you must be fully prepared to ensure that you will do well on the exam in case they throw a curveball like my test. Read First Aid as many times as possible and do as many questions and explainations as possible before your test and you will do well.
