I am applying to a few schools that weigh heavily on the last 90 quarter units.

Here's my situation:

I have 88 units right now.
How will the admissions figure out which last 2 units to look at? Will they look at the last 4 unit class that I took, since it appears last on my transcript for that quarter?

In order to find out what my last 2 units are (in order for the admissions to look at just my last 90 quarter units), which grade should I look at?

Also, I can't take another class, since I already graduated.

Thanks!!

They require AT LEAST 90 credits. If you have more, they will certainly look at all of your coursework (they will not arbitrarily cherry pick 90 credits).

Right, but it specifically states "emphasis on LAST 90 quarter units", so not necessarily just completing at least 90 units.

If its last 90, wouldnt they cut out units from when you began school?

Not exactly. It's just saying "EMPHASIS", meaning that they will consider your last 90 units GPA versus your overall GPA.

Again, they will look at all of your coursework. If your 90th credit falls in the middle of a quarter they might push that quarter's worth of courses into the 'emphasis' pile (but that's just speculation). I wouldn't worry about these sorts of labels as a solid cumulative GPA and science GPA probably carry more weight than some arbitrary distinction between credits.

Here’s my situation:

I have 88 units right now. My grades before these particular units were not too good.

Before the 88 units, the last quarter looks like this;

C- /4 units
C /4 units
B/ 4 units
B- / 4 units

(and then my current 88 units with an improved GPA)

So in order to find out what my last 2 units are (in order for the admissions to look at just my last 90 quarter units), which grade should I look at?

Which schools are these, and out of curiosity, did you just recently change your career goals from social work?

Would it have made a difference if I had taken a 2 unit no pass/pass class? Even though they're not grade based, they would have still given me the 2 units. Just wondering.

However they decide to parse your coursework in the end, the conclusion will remain the same. You have (presumably) a series of poor grades early in your academic career, and a fairly long-term upward grade trend since then. Your cumulative GPA will remain unchanged and any subdivisions of your grades will probably not make a huge difference in your competitiveness one way or the other in the long run. I wouldn't put too much thought into this as it is not anything you can change anyway.

AMCAS will display your grades with a line devoted to each of the following: college work done in HS,then freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, total undergrad, post-bac (if applicable) total including post bac and then graduate (if applicable). The columns are BCPM gpa, hours taken of BCPM, all other (AO) gpa, hours taken of AO, total gpa and total hours taken. If you take 5+ years to graduate, the credits taken beyond ~90 are all lumped into senior year. In general, the first 30 hours are freshman, the next 30 sophomore, and so forth. If you did part-time work such that it took years to accumulate 30 hours, that would still count as freshman "year" even if it were 3 years.

That's quite thorough.
