As MSTP applicants do we need two sets of LOR, one for the MD and the other for the MSTP programs. I told the professors Who wrote my LOR only about med school I didn't tell them anything concerning MD/PhD. Should I rush and ask my former research adviser to write me a LOR specifically for MSTP's. Also I will have a problem in terms of sending the new LOR's because the dead line for the mailing serves at my school has passed. Dose my research adviser need to send LOR to each school individually, because that would be a pain. Also what do you guys think my chances are with 3 years of research no publications and and 36 MCAT and 3,6 science and regular GPA.

It seems like you have good stats and research experience. I am confused though as to why you didn't tell your letter writers of your plans and I think the MSTP programs will be too. In many cases the letters you send in to the med school get forwarded to the MSTP (this depends on the school) so you don't have to send seperate letters. If you are applying MSTP, your letters should have indicated this! I'm also confused as to why you didn't ask your research advisor for a letter. This is essential to your application and at many schools required for consideration. It may be a pain to have this person send a letter, but not as big of a pain as having to reapply.
I did ask for a letter of a recommendation from my adviser regarding med school, and he knows that I am applying to mstp programs but I dint tell him to write anything specifically about MD/Phd. I am thinking, do I need him to adress specifically my md/phd application.

Ahh, well is better than I thought then. I would go ask your advisor if he addressed MD/PhD first. Since you told him about it, and you did research for him, chances are he mentioned this in his letter. If not, then yes have to stick in a paragraph about how you would do well in a combined degree program. I believe that this is an essential part of a recommendation from a research mentor if you are applying MD/PhD and many schools say that your LORs should address your apptitude for the program.
