I'm just applying to medschool, and I was browsing the match lists for different schools...on what basis do they match people...does the medical school attended play a big role, as opposed to the USMLE scores, personal essays, etc?

So should I be knowing how good the hospitals are in the matchlist for me to choose a particular medical school?
