i'm soon going to be a junior. i'm a psych major with at least a economic minor. i really want to pursuit psychology, i'm thinking grad school, but i dont know how to narrow it down to which part of psychology i like most. anybody out there with their take or story or something that gave them a sign to which school to go into?
thanks

You'll probably get more feedback in the PsyD / PhD Clinical section, though (obviously) that will focus on doctoral stuff. For now I'll leave this here and see if you can get some MA / MSW, etc input. I can move it if you want more feedback.

Depending on your location, and depending on your passion, different schools offer different things for different people (different strokes...). Various counseling programs are out there, and it really depends on what you find yourself enjoying.

My recommendation would be to get some experience and immerse yourself in the mental health field, if only a volunteer position. The last thing you want to do is graduate and realize you don't like what you have set yourself up for.

Just to give you an idea, master's programs either gear you toward research (PhD) or clinical work (PsyD), or licensure and certification. It really rests with what your end goal is and how you want to use your talents/skills. Good luck.
