I'm trying to figure out what I would have to do to enter the Canadian match and I'm at a loss with the exams part. Reading the MCCQE information, it seems that the earliest date an American student can take the first test is spring of your senior year (you have to swear that you'll have graduated by July).

So am I reading that if you attended school in the US, you can't possibly start residency immediately after graduating school? It sounds like you would be forced to sit out a year to take the tests.

p.s. For people who spend a lot of time around here... has anyone thought of writing a sticky of FAQs?

You should probably call the CaRMS people and ask your question directly to them. You should be able to do it without taking a year off. Post the answer here when you get it to help out others in the same situation!
