Connect activities to motivation in AMCAS?

Do any of you connect things in your activities section to being a doctor in your PS? Like including a line similar to: "Being a member of the suicide hotline showed me the value of listening to people who are frustrated with a number of different issues, a lesson I hope to carry into a career in medicine."

Put it in your PS, not in the activities section. Adcoms aren't stupid - they know what you do in these activities. Any "connection" can be made in the PS, but again, don't belabor the fairly obvious...
