I recently saw IM/PEDS on frieda and was wondering the pros and cons for anyone considering this path. Why wouldn't someone just go FP? I would like to hear your side?
IM/Peds: NO ob/gyn if that's important for you. MUCH more Peds, 2 full years, instead of <1 year for FP. MORE inpatient and subspecialty experience in Med/Peds, esp. for more complex patients.
Med/peds is a tough program, lots more call compared to IM or Peds categorical alone. But lots of rewards!!
Ive been doing a lot of research on med-peds and that website is great. it shows al the differences between med peds and family practice. the only thing that i cannot find on line is the average salary of a med/peds physician. i guess it is because there are so many diffferent things that you can go into after residency...does anyon have any idea how much they make?
