Dr. Slim
I have read many of the thread titles in this section of the forum. Most are asking the same question. CAN WE HAVE LIVES AS A DOCTOR?
I have always believed that the answer is yes. Many families are living testaments to this. There is hope!
With every gain there are always pitfalls to watch out for. There are always sacrifices that have to be made. When love and career clash, at that very interface, we must make decisions. We are forced to. We are compelled to. We are forced to painfully deliberate. The pressure! Worlds are colliding and we all wish to save both.
Do we remain engaged to our partner when a great career opportunity comes our way on the other side of the world?
Do we have kids in medical school?
Should we get married in medical school?
Is it right to date a classmate in medical school?
So many questions can be asked in this forum. They are all derrivatives of the age-old clash between the career and love-interest.
How do we reconcile thse differences? The ambivalent Hamlet would groan, "There's the rub!"
