Consolidating Private Loans

I just graduated and I am starting residency. I have about 130K of private loans and was wondering if there is a way for me to consolidate or lower interest rate? How are others doing this?

I'm in the same boat as you. Been trying for months and I've had no luck with all of the private lenders. The last resort now for me is to go with the Federal direct loans program.

http://loanconsolidation.ed.gov/index.shtml for federal loans, and I'm trying Wells Fargo for the private ones.


I'm not sure if that will be as good as if I'd consolidated before the bottom fell out of the market, but it's my only choice. Good luck.
