I'm about to graduate and I'm looking into jobs. I've had a lot of contract companies calling and offering jobs. They are saying that I can contract at some places for 13 weeks and stay within a given area. What are the pros and cons of going with contract PT vs a full time position at one location? Any thoughts?

Check out the forums on this website; they are geared towards traveling PTs:

I haven't found yet a good resource for folks who want to travel; the above site is ok, but the forums are not very active. If anybody knows of a good website, please post.

As for pros and cons of contract work, I assume it's the same as in my previous line of work (I/T): as a contractor, you're paid more but generally you have no benefits and no stability - although the demand for PTs today seems to be fairly high. Moving around every few months can be tough on the spouse/SO, if you have one and if s/he follows you around. But it'd be a great way to see the country.

I think there was a post in the website above, where a PT bought a RV and used it to travel to new gigs. He would park it in a RV park and use it as lodging while on assignment. Not a bad idea!

Yeathat sounds better than traveling the country and you can travel but just In one city.

Sent from my iPhone using SDN Mobile app I will accept any pt school at this point. I cannot sleep
