any of you senior residents having a lawyer review your new contracts? anyone just trying to read/interpret the contract themselves? any problems with the contracts you care to discuss? any successful negotiations? any comments/recommendations about this from our esteemed attendings?

thx for your input....

We have an MD JD on faculty that reviews all our contracts. I think you'd be a fool to sign a contract for a six-figure salary and not have a lawyer review it.

Agreed. It might cost a few hundred but it could end up saving you a LOT of pain. This is the big leagues dont putz around trying to save pennies!

I have found that negotiations are limited in the academic world. It seems as though each of the offers I've gotten have been pretty set - based on experience, academic level, etc. They've been pretty open from early in the process as to the pay and structure. I haven't seen much "wiggle room". Has anyone else in that setting?
