Y'all still using contrast for epidermals?
I just use it for pin point injections. The patients like that term for when ortho just blindly stabs them with whatever Mississippi white bbq sauce is in the syringe.
Somehow what they do is pinpoint. And the careful things we do under Fluoro are epidermals.

Boy does that epidermal work when I've stoved up my back.

sealed?

so were the NECC bottles. capped and sealed.

the problem was that it was from a powder and compounded under contaminated conditions. that fungus fumigated in the bottles while waiting to get used...

Anyone else dealing with the contrast shortage and looked into using Omnipaque 140 for small-volume epidural confirmation?

I went through the full PI and here's what I found — the 140 has the exact same excipients as the 180 (same tromethamine, same edetate calcium disodium, same pH, autoclaved, no preservatives). The osmolality is actually lower and closer to CSF (322 vs 408 mOsm/kg). The contraindication appears to be entirely regulatory — GE never ran intrathecal trials with the 140 since it was developed for IA-DSA. There's no toxicology or adverse event data distinguishing it from the 180.

At 0.5 cc for needle confirmation, I'm having a hard time seeing the risk. Curious what others think or if anyone's already doing this with appropriate documentation. The alternative right now is gadolinium (worse visibility, also off-label) or no contrast at all.

I got an email from my Bracco rep asking if I was part of a group buying program so they could adjust my pricing. This is after I placed an order successfully when supposedly they are not taking new customers. Is it a trap or do they genuinely want to give me a better price?
