Are there any main conversions we should know? For both QR and Chem? I am not sure how in depth to go when memorizing conversions...... I have seen posts in this forum where people said knowing conversions helped them out on the test... just curious as to what conversions those are! Thanks in advance.🙂

The only conversion I had on my QR was lbs to oz. I suggest you spend more time doing problems then memorizing conversion factors.

crud.. how many lbs are in an oz?

I'm Canadian so I don't use that screwed up system we call the old english system.

Can an american quickly go through all the conversions they know? This way I can be on the same page as you guys?

What I do know:
12 inches are in a foot
3 feet are in a yard
5480 yards are in a mile (random kaplan Q)

3 teaspoons are in 1 tablespoon

what about pints, gallons, ounces, etc?

thanks a ton and kind regards,
Your friendly neighborhood lumberjack.

32 oz = 1 quart
4 quart = 1 gallon

5280 ft in a mile
(i think you mean 1760 yds in a mile)
3 ft = 1 yard
3.3 feet = 1 meter

thats all i can think of right now

oh random: 525600 minutes in a year..but thats from the lyrics of the song seasons of love haha

I spent a lot of time studying QR (especially after hearing how time is such an issue lately) I just don't want to get to the test and know how to do everything and not know a simple conversion factor. Probably wouldn't take more than 10 minutes to memorize anyhow. May just end up being worth it!

I also don't think the yards to miles conversion you gave was correct. I am spending tomorrow doing QR. Will come back and post everthing I come up with. 🙂

Also,

16 ounces = 1 pound
2000 pounds = 1 ton
16 fluid ounces = 1 pint
2 pints = 1 quart
4 quarts = 1 gallon
