hey guys,

Im studying in UWaterloo in Canada and here they only use percentage grades. How can I convert my percentage grades to the ADEA GPA scale or the ADEA alphabetic grades???

The reason I'm asking is because I have got 61% in one of my prerequisite courses and I have to retake it if it converts to C- or under...

61% is considered a D- in the US. You're going to have to retake that and earn at least a 75%.

For Canadian applicants, AADSAS will most likely use the OMSAS conversion.

Thanks for the reply! Yea that makes more sense now... because I called ADEA and they said that they don't convert the marks themselves for the international students... so I guess they use the OMSAS conversion chart.

If your school uses letter grades (ex. McMaster), they will take it at face value and convert it directly using the AADAS chart (A+ = 4.33, etc.). If your school uses percents (Western, Waterloo), you would have to refer to this http://www.adea.org/AADSASapp/Instructions/ADEA-AADSAS-grade.aspx
As for converting for semester hour purposes, 3 units (0.5 Full Course Equivalents) will translate to 3 semester hours and 6 units (1.0 Full Course Equivalents) will translate to 6 semester hours. If either of these courses have labs, you would indicate (for example) organic chemistry with lab so they know the course had a lab component.

This is what I was told by the people at ADEA when I called in last week!
