Some programs tout their residents' performance on the core exam as a selling point. Do programs know how well their residents perform nationally? Is this a valid factor in assessing the strength of a program?

National average passing rate is around 90%

I wouldn't get too impressed by any program boasting perfect pass rates, nor discouraged if a program has a handful of failures.

I would definitely be wary of any program with sub 80% pass rates, but I doubt they would ever share that information
