Did anyone at Cornell get in Early Decision? Did anyone apply ED and not get in? When were you notified. Cornell is my first choice and I want to go ED but I am afraid that if I don't find out until Oct. 1 it will be too late to apply to other schools.

Hmm, i wasn't even aware that we did early decision. Honestly, unless your stats are completely amazing (37 MCAT, 4.0 from Harvard, tons of publications, etc), I wouldn't try the ED route. Cornell is insanely competitive (I think we interview like 900 people out of about 7,000 applicants, and then accept/waitlist about 1/3 of those). So, i think if anything it would be safer to just apply through regular admission - you certainly won't be at any disadvantage, since essentially all of us got in that way. Come to think of it, I don't know anyone who got in through early decision.

Anyway, good luck! Also, keep in mind that until you visit lots of schools you really can't know for sure which one will be your first choice... so just keep an open mind during the interview process.

Q 🙂

I think you will be better off with the regular application cycle. ED could be application sucide if you are not careful. If they will take you with Ed then you will get in anyways, plus explore other schools.
