Cornell vs. Dartmouth vs. UNC vs. Mayo AZ/MN (WL)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I voted for Dartmouth because I want to be in the same class with you (if I get in somewhere) but I think Cornell would be best for you honestly

Well I voted Cornell because I want to be in the same class as you lol

Also aren’t we all on Mayo waitlists. So fun.

I have no idea how to actually advise you but...CORNELL?!

I vote Mayo AZ or Dartmouth because that means that there's a chance that we could be in the same class (if I get off the WL & don't get rejected from Dartmouth lol). On the other hand, I think Cornell is by far the most prestigious school out of them all so Ill just say it: don't worry about the money and GO FOR IT!

GAHH, can one of you just pick at random for me??

Cornell! Nothing in this world like New York City. Also it is by far the best school on that list and this DOES matter when trying to match into prestigious and competitive residency.

Dang am I the only one on this sub who doesn't like NYC (Not to make this about me.... Cornell is dope).
Dont get me wrong, I remember at one point vowing to never live in NYC; Its very daunting, crowded, and aggressive lol. But to live there for four years could be a crazy cool/unique experience

Agreed, there's so many times in life when I would not want to live in NYC, but during medical school while I'm in my 20s seems like kind of the perfect time...Then go somewhere with all of the outdoors access and reasonable cost of living after.

Thats what I keep coming back to. Like I won't be 40 and decide to live in NYC I'm sure of that. But I know id want to/have the opportunity to live in a place more my style for the rest of my life

i'm pretty sure the match list there is impressive and so is the name of cornell your match could be pretty much anywhere. you'll be fine if you go there for 4 years and then match away from that city after

You make a solid point, and you couldn't ask for a better school. It'll be a blast I'm sure! Also side note, but one of my friends' dads is a physician in NYC and they have a house in the "country" about an hour from NYC on a lake and an apartment in Upper East Side. The best of both worlds. It'll be a great experience.

Anyway, now that you've decided on Cornell I need you to turn in your badge and your Dartmouth acceptance.
