Should the corrugated diaphragm on a Welch Allyn Tycos DLX be positioned so the center is concave or convex?

If you take a look at the corrugated diaphragm you will quickly notice that it is not the same when reversed. I suspect that the concave position makes it act like a more bell-like diaphragm. Thoughts???

I know this is insanely meticulous but I like this specialty and I always take a lot of time (sometimes 5-7 minutes) to listen to any patient with cardiac abnormalities to hone my skills. Having properly functioning equipment is part of that and can only help.

Thanks for the response. Regarding the corrugated diaphragm, I realize the intention was that it would be used with the triple head as a "overview" but do you think I miss anything big by using it with my double head (ie. without having the flat diaphragm).
