Should the corrugated diaphragm on a Welch Allyn Tycos DLX be positioned so the center is concave or convex?
If you take a look at the corrugated diaphragm you will quickly notice that it is not the same when reversed. I suspect that the concave position makes it act like a more bell-like diaphragm. Thoughts???
I know this is insanely meticulous but I like this specialty and I always take a lot of time (sometimes 5-7 minutes) to listen to any patient with cardiac abnormalities to hone my skills. Having properly functioning equipment is part of that and can only help.
