I'm looking at the evident requirement of needing up to 80k of loans to pay for the total costs of a graduate DPT program. I'm concerned I won't get the loan though. My credit's great but I'm concerned about cosign requirements. My family/support group is dirt poor. I wonder if this would affect my ability to get the loan. I did call up the school and they made it sound like they've never had problems with students getting loans. I never brought up the fact, though, that I don't have access to a cosigner that makes more than 30k/year. I wonder if this will affect my ability to get what looks to be around 40k of private student loans. Should I be concerned about not getting the loans for grad school?

As a grad student your parental info doesn't matter. Even if it did, all that matters is the amount of subsidized vs. unsubsidized stafford loans you could get. It's either the max of sub and rest unsub, no sub and all unsub, or somewhere in between. To fill in the amount beyond stafford if you need it you can get grad plus loans. Those only require that you haven't had major credit problems or problems recently with defaulting or bankruptcy.
