When do you think students will say no to dental bec of the cost of education?

I'm looking at around $250,000 and was thinking if tution rises at some schools at the current rate and were to think of applying in 10 years, I'd probably not do it.

I think many students are already deterred by the cost of the education. I'm really not sure I would have applied if I knew it was gonna cost me over a quarter million dollars just for the degree. Then another $3-400,000 for a practice. Dentists have a great earning potential, but that is a huge amount of debt.

I had a manager at Domino's Pizza who was making ~$100,000 just managing the one store. No school, no loans, nothing. There are other opportunities out there.

But, since I had a public school option, here I am. My sincere thanks to the taxpayers of Georgia for footing the bill for my education. 🙂

When dentists have a tough time paying back their loans AHEAD of schedule!😀

Sorry if I'm sounding a bit like a jerk, but I just finished reading the junk post about fluoride and low I.Q. and that junk tabloid "science: really gets me going😡

i would be hesitant to spend 250k for a DMD degree unless my family owned a practice for me to inherit. but it's just my personal opinion.

I agree. I was so irate after reading it that I didn't respond -- a first for me!

speaking of posts, wasn't it last week that you posted your 1600th post? How did you manage to post 200+ times in such a short span.

I don't think anyon would stop going to Dental School cuz it is getting more expensive every year. This is because no matter how much you pay for the tuition and stuff, it is still worth the investment

Yeah youve got to think, tuition is getting more expensive, but our technology is also getting better. When a school pays for 20 dent sims at $80,000 a piece, the moneys got to come from somewhere.

Which is either why: Schools aren't advancing their technology, or, they are getting the manufacturer to cut them great deals.
