Could and F Potentially Keep me out of Dental School

Hey..

I just wanted to ask you guys, I think i might have failed Organic Chem (the second part). I dont know yet...and I worrying big time. Could an F in this course keep me out? I was planning on applying this June.

u take the DAT yet? if you can't even pass O chem with a D I can't really see you doing that good on the O chem part anyways, both those combined can't be good, but hey, if you have good other stuff I guess you never know

Actually...I got a 19 on the DAT in Orgo Chem...and that was learning orgo. chem by myself.

I'm not sure if the grade itself will hurt your chances but I am pretty sure that you need 8 hours of organic chemistry as a prequisite, so you're prolly going to have to take it over again. You should look into this 🙂

Yes, an F in those prereq classes will keep u out.
As long as you have a decent GPA, and retake that failed class, u should be fine. consider a W, if u do so bad that u cant pull it up.

i am guessing you are not a freshman.. and a F is pretty bad. Trying to get at least a F+ man ^^

yes W is way way better than F. W on my transcrip was never brought up in my interviews. not even once.

I was told that schools will not accept D credit for any pre-req course, so yeah I think you will need to retake it. Schools worry about accepting students who have shown an inability to pass undergrad science classes because not passing in Dental school will cause problems for you and the school. Best of luck
