Could we get a review push for scutwork.com?

Was wondering if the SDN overlords would consider some type of gimmick to encourage current/former residents to write-up reviews of their residency programs on http://www.scutwork.com/

Reason is the reviews there are pretty old as of now, and this could be a great resource for M4 students looking at different programs.

If you're going to have an SDN push for something, it's probably easier to have people commenting more frequently in the various specialty forums. ScutWork just seems to invite the types of people with axes to grind.

That's ok if they have an axe to grind. People just have to keep that in mind when reading the reviews. I think it is way more organized to encourage them to post reviews there though, it becomes a lot easier to find than trudging through endless pages of forum posts.

The problem with that is in discussion about residency the good and bad doesn't exactly fit in well to the simplistic "x of 5 stars" criteria that scutwork uses. More organized doesn't necessarily mean better or more useful. I graduated less than a year ago, and I could post a long, detailed review about where I went that honestly won't be all that relevant today. If you want to actually get a feel about what programs to apply to/attend, then you need to have a long, often complicated discussions about specific and often rapidly changing issues within each department. Just because the info's there on ScutWork doesn't mean it's at all useful. Applicants are also great at getting hung up about things that ultimately aren't important.

That and while I can compare the hundreds of books I've read over the course of my lifetime and give a x of 5 star review on GoodReads (that is only really useful for people with similar tastes to mine)... I can only compare the one residency I did to itself. I can compare it to the idea I have of a few other programs from interviews and friends, but I certainly know the pitfalls of my own more in depth than any other program.
