Hi guys, I've been a long time lurker on these boards and I'm just posting to ask a few questions and get a few opinions with a couple of things. I have 6 weeks left to go till Doomsday and I still have to study Physio, Path, and Behavioral Science before a 3 week cram session. Here are my questions:

Is it better to do BRS physio or Kaplan Physio?
Is it better to do Goljan Rapid Review or Kaplan Pathology?
Is it better to do only First Aid for Behavioral Science, or is it absolutely key to do BRS Behavioral or Kaplan Behavioral in addition?

Thanks for the advice in advance!

I can only comment on the Goljaan RR question and I suggest that you stick to Kaplan Patho. Not because Kaplan is better, but simply because of the complexity of RR3. If you didn't use RR in your patho classes, and haven't heard the goljaan audio, you are going to have a tough time getting through RR. It's wordy, in an unconventional format, and a beast to take on.

I've read RR and I loved it. I managed to it in a cool 11 days as well. But I attribute that to the fact that I've heard goljaan audio 3+ times in med school. I'm pretty sure it'd take others 15+ days to complete it AND understand it enough to recall the info on the test and i'm not sure if you have the time to do that.

Keep in mind that this is all in my humble opinion. Your more than welcome to take on the challenge and if so, more power to you!

Thanks for the Reply!

I read goljan when I was taking path and I've listened to his audio 2 times through before, but that was months ago. Should I still take one more run through it now to freshen it up?

I'm thinking of only sticking to First Aid for behavioral to save some more time for Goljan as it is the higher yield area. Do you think that will do or should I just make an extra push and read through behavioral kaplan( as their are like crazy hours of video for it)? I'm thinking of doing the same for physio as I think it would be faster to read through BRS than to watch all the kaplan videos. Can anyone help me out and let me know if I'm approaching this wrong?

As always thanks for the advice!

Excellent! I think you should definitely try to get through rapid review then. I wasn't sure if you were familiar with Goljaan yet but I think you'll do great. However, there are tons of people who did well on their boards (230+) that never touched goljaan at all. No audio, no RR. So it's 50/50 I suppose.

As for behvioral sciences, I myself am only sticking to first aid. I wouldn't waste the time to watch all the videos but I havent seen them myself so I can't really speak from experience.

As for physio, the kaplan lectures are great. But I only saw them for cardio, respo, and renal since those were kind of confusing topics for me. I highly suggest that you at least watch the cardio and renal chapters as they explain formulas and calculations big time. I watched them at 2X speed and it worked out great. I'd suggest that you watch the videos for only those chapters you are weak in. Otherwise, BRS should be just fine.
