Looking for advice from couples match veterans...

I'm derm, she's IM. We've applied very broadly, and it looks like IM is sending out invites much earlier than derm, since she has 15 interviews so far at really good programs (Mayo, Michigan, Duke, WashU, etc...) and I have ZERO.

How do we schedule her interviews? We don't want her to go on too many unnecessary interviews, since she'll only have time and energy (and money) for 15-20 programs at most.

Right now, we are trying the following options:
- double-booking programs that she isn't as interested in
- scheduling interviews late to buy me some time
- I'll call programs in early Nov after the Dean's letter is out to request a look at my app

Any other thoughts?

So far, looks like you’re doing the right thing. Hang in there until November. She should go ahead and schedule interviews, and confirm/cancel/reschedule as you get your invites – or rejections. Being that derm is so competitive, you may have to sacrifice travelling to interviews together to a certain extent. Be flexible. Also, since you are shooting for derm, have you applied to a backup specialty, and have you gotten any invites with that? What about prelim interviews?
