I heard that when applying to DO schools, if you retook a course and got a better grade the second time, they replace the first grade with the second. Is this true? I know at my school you can take 2-3 classes over if you're not happy with your first grade and replace the first grade with the second, but I wasn't sure if it worked that way when applying to DO schools.

Yes, DO schools follow the same rule on this that the vast majority of universities follow. MD schools, on the other hand, don't.

What happens if you retake the "same" course but at a different school? Can you still replace the grade or do they have to be considered different classes since they were at different schools?
