Hi Everyone! This is my first time posting. I'm very glad I was introduced to this forum, extremely resourceful and helpful... thank you all!

I'm a current student at Sacramento State, where I'm taking my pre-reqs for Pharmacy. Sac State offers "Anatomy & Physiology I II", as well as "Introduction to Human Anatomy" and "Systematic Physiology." Would pharmacy colleges accept either or?

The counselor I've spoken to suggest Human Anatomy and Systematic Physiology, but as I browse around the requirements for some Pharmacy colleges, it's listed as AP1,2...

😕

I was wondering if anyone here can clarify that, or should I check on the colleges I'm interested in to make sure?

The University of South Carolina requires Anatomy/Physiology I and II. The best thing to do is check a pharmacy school's website and see what they require. I think it makes more sense to learn anatomy and physiology together though.

The individual schools you are interested in applying to should be the first place you look for information for any questions regarding on whether they will accept your classes.

I would go with Anat/Physio I and II to be safe, that is probably the ones required most often.

If you're interested in attending either UCSF or UCSD School of Pharmacy, they have a website at www.assist.org that lets you look up which classes are accepted from various state colleges and universities. For other schools you would have to contact them directly to make sure the class meets their criteria.

I looked at the website for you and it states that for CSU Sacramento, UCSF accepts:

REQUIREMENT: PHYSIOLOGY | BIO 131 SYSTEMIC PHYSIOLOGY (4)

UCSF does not require an anatomy class specifically, but I know for a fact that other schools like UOP does, so it might be useful to look up all of the pre-reqs for each school you're interested in applying to and using that to prioritize which classes you take and to hopefully have them overlap with your own graduation requirements.

For assurance, I'll contact the interested colleges.

I guess, I'm not sure what the difference is, or whether they're equivalent or not.. considering the Anatomy and Physio classes are not open to students who have successfully completed Human Anatomy and Systematic Physiology.

...best bet to ask and make sure 🙂

Thanks everyone for the response.

I know that some pharm schools in Cali don't accept a combined anatomy and physiology course.
