Q for you all:

Do undergrad courses (and other courses you took before starting med school) and their grades matter at all ONCE you are in medical school and later down the road?

College courses taken in high school (and their respective grades) can matter in the medical school application, for example. Now does any sort of class, whether it be undergrad or graduate courses, matter at all after you're in med school (i.e., when considering residencies, post-residency training, etc etc)???

No.

The only thing I'm aware of is that there might still be a few schools that may allow you to test out of a class like Biochem if you've taken it previously in undergrad. But, that decision is not based on your college performance but on how well you do on the exam they offer to you in med school.

There usually is a brief section in your dean's letter summarizing your college accomplishments (ie, grad. cum laude with X.xx GPA or whatever).

i think maybe.
my sister and her friend went on residency interviews and her friend once told me that the interviewer mentioned that he saw that the student had gotten a high mcat score and how that was impresive. i think i remember them saying they still see how you did as an undergrad. but i doubt they put terribly a lot of creedence into it.

Not that i know of. i applied to residency programs a year ago...while i was required to fill in my undergraduate institution and dates of graduation, i did not submit my undergraduate transcripts, MCAT scores, or any of that stuff. As mentioned above, a brief statement appeared in my dean's letter regarding my undergraduate accomplishments, but that was it. While i don't doubt the above posters story, no one asked me about my MCAT score or undergraduate grades nor was it discussed during my interviews.

Can that technically mean that after one's junior year in college (which is about when med apps go out), grades in senior year DO NOT MATTER at all, once you're accepted into a medical college & as long as you pull passing grades and maintain an okay gpa for graduation? 😀

Yeah unless you have a conditional acceptance!

Keep in mind you may get waitlisted at some of your top-choice schools -- continued good grades/updated transcript may make the difference between acceptance/no acceptance.

Residency programs barely care about your preclinical grades. They couldn't care less about some class you took in undergrad.
