Hello!

This question is for the optometry students (i posted this thread in the pre-opt forum...and I dont think anyone knows the answer...)🙁

I was just wondering if anyone knows what happens when you are taking courses during the application process (have already applied). By that I mean, say you are taking courses this term and plan to take courses next term to finish your degree...will the opt schools ask for your grades at the end of each term (even if these courses are NOT pre reqs for optometry school?) just to see how you did?

Thanks a bunch

Yup, the schools will definitely ask, and sometimes there is a minimum grade you need to get for the term(s) you are taking after you submit your application. You don't need to submit grades per each term, but you'll have to send in a final transcript of all undergrad coursework prior to matriculation.

So if you do get accepted while you're still taking classes, you'll be given a "provisional acceptance" meaning that you need to complete your degree before getting officially accepted. You should contact your schools of choice for details.
