Coursework: Enter W classes?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If you re-took the class, then you enter your most recent grade.

I am sorry, I do not understand. I think entering the most resent grade would result in grade manipulation. Are you saying that you enter the retake grade twice? Say you took chemistry in 2000 and retook it in 2001 and received an A. So, do you say you received an A in both 2000 and 2001.

I am sure you need to go quarter by quarter detailing your academic history just like your transcribes. If you received a W in 2000 in chem. you enter W. Then in 2001 you chem. repeat and grade.

Are you sure about this?? Common sense would dictate that you enter both scores, showing the schools that you have taken the class twice.

I thought you were supposed to enter every course you've ever taken, regardless of whether you got credit for it, failed, withdrew, re-took, or whatever. That's what I'm doing, at least. If you don't enter the W course and it shows up on a transcript, they might think you were trying to hide it from them and hold it against you in some way. Dunno for AADSAS, but I'm absolutely sure this is true for TMDSAS (the one for TX schools only).

I'm almost positive this is true for AADSAS too, but I'm too lazy to go look up the instructions in AADSAS myself. I know for sure that last year when I applied, I entered in every course I've ever taken, regardless of whether I got credit for it, failed, withdrew, retook, etc. The courses I took twice, I entered twice. If I got an F the first time and an A the second time, I'd enter F for the first time and A for the second (and yes, that actually happened!!!).

so...let's say i took o chem and received B and retook it and received A so total GPA would be between A and B?
my situation is kind of rare but I took some classes oversea and retook them here in US meaning that ...i have lots of repeats....

You have to enter ALL courses taken in AADSAS application! If any discrepancies found between your transcript and AADSAS application, you will be denied and find guilty of misrepresenting information. This will be noted in your fill in case of any future applications. Given that a lot of the times, admissions personal does not have the time to double check your transcript and the AADSAS information, but I definitely would not advise to try your chances. State schools will check more thoroughly since they receive less applications per cycle. I can't see how a dental school can check every application and make sure they are correct with their transcript when they receive 2000+ AADSAS applications per cycle!

If you've taken Chemistry 4 times, then you must enter all four grades!
