For the past 2-3 years I've been working as a CPhT and trying to go to school, but lately the work has been cutting way too much in to school time and GPA and I recently had that "I want to go back to school to be a MD" epiphany. Long time lurker on SDN, just now started posting (ironically at work lol)

Main question here: I'm considering getting my EMT-B certification back and working as a ER volunteer for a few hours during the week while also working weekends as a transporter. My current job as a tech is primarily order entry (which also attached to that is filling medications, pre-packing them, and insurance/billing) in a closed-door pharmacy, meaning little to no patient contact. Pay wise I'd be making more as a EMT and have more time for school (which sucks now that I think of it)

Sorry, I don't see a question mark. Are you asking if the bold section is a good idea?

EMT is good experience. I think it would be time well spent. Research experience, volunteer work, and shadowing also count for a lot.

that is one hell of a leap there. goodluck

lol this is like 4 weeks old. but thank you for the advice or time or whatever. it means a lot xD its gonna be a loooooong trip from here lol

Pursue a BS in something you want to learn more about and cut back on your hours if you are finding that the work is too much. EMT is a fine choice but remember it does take time/effort to get that certification.
