So I have to have BLS (Basic Life Support) certification before matriculation. I was wondering if any places offer it for free? Or am I asking for too much? 🙄

It is hard to get for free unless you work at a hospital. Hospitals typically have monthly sessions where they provide BLS classes for certification (some even offer ACLS). Maybe you can slide in as a student if you intern or are rotating at a hospital (but they typically only accept employees for free and others have to pay)?? You may want to call around local hospitals in your area and ask for the education dept. Typical price for the class is anywhere from $60-40 (so maybe higher, but that is kind of rare). Also you could check out American Heart Association for other classes in the area.

Check your local Red Cross, their classes are usually reasonable and well run.

Butler had CPR/BLS Certification as part of the curriculum in our Clinical Assessment class. Perhaps you might want to bring this up to someone and see if you can get it fit into the curriculum so you get cert. at no cost to you.

UF made us pay for our own certification to start school. Then, they foot the bill and brought someone in to certify us before rotations.

South said in their letter to make sure we are certified before entering school so I assume they wouldn't pay for it.

I left a message at my local Fire Dept, they haven't call back.
I gotta get it done before August!
I wish they let us take it online...
