How similar is CDP to the real DAT?

I just took my first ever CDP- and I haven't done much PAT problems besides Kaplan- got an 18. 🙁🙁🙁🙁

Also, can we rip paper/ and or hold up pen and pencils to the computer screen for angles during the real DAT?

Just wondering if thats considered cheating...:scared:

There was discussion that you can't even hold your fingers to the screen. I did it, but was not aware of it. There are no paper allowed in the testing center.

CDP is similar. It is at times harder. Except for angles. Angles are just the same.

another difference is that the images are much larger. everything is scaled accordingly.

Also angles on the actual do have a short and long leg. while on CDP they are both long.

my testing center said I could hold up the my laminated sheet but I tried it and was of no use to me.

Anyhow just keep practicing.

Don't dwell too much on angles. Work on getting 100% in the other areas. Get the easy ones like hole punching and cube counting. If we use the sample score estimate as a guide even if you miss every single angle, that would put you at 21.

The angles on CDP were just kind of ridiculous.

Does anyone know if on the real DAT they are placed at different heights like they are on CDP? I knew that they were flipped upside down, sideways, etc and one leg can be longer than the other, I didnt know they could be at different height levels tho?!?!?!?

Anyway, is 5 CDP tests enough to prep me? / where can I find more PAT prep? I can't really afford to upgrade to 10 tests...
