soooooo i just took the 3rd practice test and got a 20. i would be happy with a 20 on the real thing but the problem is i guessed on a lot of questions on this practice test and am worried that i could be unlucky and guess wrong on the real thing.

so i really need to learn new techniques and strategies. im having a lot of trouble with hole punching and top-front-end. i tried the tic tac toe method and i tried counting layers and i used symmetry for hole punching but it takes me way too long and sometimes i cant figure out how the thing is folding 🙁 does anyone have any tips to help me out?

for top-front-end, ive been trying real hard but i end up guessing between 2 and dont have a good strategy for this. are there tricks, strategies? this section takes me the longest and im just staring at it.

also, i read a few posts that said there are no illusions for the cubes on the real dat. has ANYONE seen illusions? if not, ill feel better about that part and stop worrying about cubes.

oh and im taking my dat july 23..... 2 and half weeks.

thanks in advance!!!

how do you people use CDP to study? meaning, do you just keep forcing yourself to do more and more practice tests and eventually you just get better? or do you teach yourselves using other materials?

CDP doesnt give strategies and im having trouble teaching myself tricks.
should i just keep doing practice tests and hope that ill get better eventually or what?

have you looked up the "wicked sick pat tutorial" thread on here? that was pretty helpful. especially the big first section on TFE.

and i've been doing more of the "random" specific subject tests on crack than the regular full length ones for now - i feel like it lets me get more practice in.

also, i posted a thread asking the same thing about illusions about a week ago. i forget what people said lol. but you can search for it!

repeatedly doing tests without really knowing what you're doing isn't really going to get you far, i don't think. you really do need some kind of strategy.

keep trying!
