Ok, I have had CRACK DAT reading section for a while now and have not finished all 5 of the tests yet but I was wondering if someone who has taken the dat already knows if this will give a good representation of what my scores may be. Thanks for the input!

I was averaging about a 19 on CDR and about 21s in RC on Topscore. I got a 17 in RC on the actual DAT, but i was pianoed. I think CDR is a better representation of the actual DAT because it incorporates more inference questions than topscore. Actually I think its passages might be more similar too...most of the topscore passages were science based where thats not necessarily true for the actual exam.

i think your best bet is to experiment with the CDR and see which technique works best for you. Maybe for one test, you can try three different techniques on each of the three passages. It all depends on your reading level and ability to retain/comprehend information

Well considering I havent taken the real thing yet I am not sure but the passages do have a greater diversity than topscore and achiever. They have alot more interpretation (tone) questions also. They will ask if you think the author will agree with a certain statement or what the author might write ect... I also like the break down it gives. There are about 10 different types of questions and the breakdown like the pat and math sections will tell you what types of quesitions you are weak on.
But if you are like me and consider my self an average reader and want to improve your scores through strategy these are 5 extra tests to find a strategy that works for you. ANYONE ELSE TRIED THIS??
Thanks "HowaboutDAT"!

I'm using it right now, but the thing is im not sure which one will work the best. For example, I heard that with the tone questions you really cant do search and destroy? So isnt it better to just read through the passages or at least skim through to get an idea?

I found that that improves how many tone questions I get correct but not my total score. I am still trying a combination of a variety of strategies like outlining/reading the first 5-10 questions so I know what to look for and then begin reading and answering. Once I finished those I do the same for the next 5-10 and coninue reading through the passage. I then pick up any marked/unanswered questions after I complete the reading. What ever strategy some one uses unless you are a natural definatly takes practice.

For questions that ask for tone...put an educated guess down, and MARK it. After you use search and destroy for the rest of the questions, you should have a much better of what the author is trying to convey and should be able to answer those kinds of questions.

how is CDR? would you say its worth the price? I was thinking I need some extra practice in RC before dday so if its worth it I may get it. So far I've been using the obvious Acheiver and TopScore and get 21+ but I feel its not representative of the real thing

I'd rather donate my $70 to a drug addict to get crack so that he can die sooner. Either that, or just flush it down the toilet for the fun of it.

I am practicing reading on CDR but I got 15's on first two test , isit hard or iam so weak on reading ?😴
