Hello,
I am not a student but I was hoping I could ask some real students what they think of the this x-ray taken of my #16 tooth. I went in for pain that has increasingly gotten worse when pressure is applied to the biting surface. I can press on a specific side of the tooth and the pain is intense. The dentist wasn't sure if this was a case of re-absorbtion in the root, (or what) so he sent me to an oral surgeon. He suggested that there is a crack but he wouldn't tell from the x-ray and recomended a CT scan.
I'm at the point where I spend $$$ for a CT scan just to see what the deal is, then I have to figure out what to do. It sounds like I have to get the whole thing pulled but I really would prefer to save it. There is already an amalgram filling on this tooth. I've been prescribed anti-biotics to prevent infection. Both doctors said that is very hard to tell what's going on with the three nerves. What do you guys think? Is there a better forum section for this? Thank you.
