I recall a young woman whom presented to the ED obtunded after a witnessed seizure at home. She ended up intubated. While awaiting a head CT, the boyfriend was sitting in the chair next to the bed. As I poked my head in to take a peek at the vitals, I noticed some unusual markings around her neck. I took a closer look and they appeared to be marks from human hands in a strangling pattern. As I looked at these closely, the boyfriend looks up at me with a look of sheer terror and runs out of the room and the ambulance bay doors. Turned out this was a murder attempt.
