This is a erally crazy question....what if a person graduated from med school and is reluctant to do residency. so this person decides to work as a PA...is it even possible. Can regular MDs get employed as docs?

No, PAs are a separate profession. If an MD wished to work in that capacity, they would have to go to PA school (same if they wanted to do nursing - including NP or CRNA). In some states (and in the military) a physician can get a license after a 1 year internship - but, outside of the military, this is a rare practice. It would be exceptionally difficult to get admission privledges at any facility and joining a group practice would also be nearly out of the question. So biulding a patient base would be near impossible. Without meaning to start the chiropractic debate again, the only place I have seen these "1 yr. docs" employed in patient care roles is in freestanding phsicial rehab centers, usually owned by DCs, where they promise collaborative practice (between MDs and DCs). I have also heard of non-residency MDs working in law offices, health insurance corporations, and drug companies, but these folks usually have not done any residency and do not practice direct patient care.
