Hi everyone! For those of you who took 1 gap year and worked in clinical research, when did you submit your applications and when did you start getting job offers? Some applications have said "submitted" since mid-February and I can't tell if I'm being ghosted or if I'm still in the running for these positions. I do have other basic science/clinical employment options, but I need to start making moves in that department to give people plenty of advance notice. When is it time to give up on getting a clinical research position if I want to have a job lined up by May?

Thank you so much!

I was applying to jobs for 2-3 months before getting one. With the CRC position i ended up at, they reached out within a week. The key for me was to apply HELLA early and to emphasize previous clinical / research experiences i had + show excitement at their intersection in my cover letter

oops sorry I have another question! most jobs I saw gave the department name but no PI name and no info about the project. is there any way to show interest in those situations or do I just hope they can tell from my resume? thank you so much again, I really appreciate it!

Often times youll be working with multiple PIs on multiple projects. I would just express your passion for research, as well as any clinical experience you had previously, and share that youre excited for a new perspective on both 🙂
