Cream for preventing facial hair

I wasn't sure where else to put this question. I see an endocrinologist for my polycystic ovaries, but I am not the typical PCOS patient. I was shown a cream for helping with the facial hair that often comes with PCOS but didn't pay attention very well since I don't have that problem. This is a cream that has been in the USA for a while now but has only recently been approved here in the UK, which is why my doctor showed it to me. Does this sound familiar to anyone? This has been annoying me for a while. If anyone does know what it is, can they please tell me if it is worthwhile to use as a prevention as well? If I have the name I can do my own research but I don't see the doctor for another five months and I don't want to call him for something like this!
