So, this is really irrelevant to everything, but what do you guys know about creatine. Is it bad for you, is it only bad if you dont drink enough water, etc. Im thinking about taking a volumizer with branched AA, Creatine, and some other substances, but im not sure about creatine.

Thanks in advanced.

This will probably get moved.

Your kidneys will dump what you don't use, so I doubt that you'd find it harmful to anything but your pocketbook.

My advice would depend on what you want to use it for and what you hope to accomplish. I prefer a balanced diet to supplements, but I'm not a professional bodybuilder either.

Whatever placebo effect helps you train is good except on your bank account.

If you can't use more than what your body makes naturally what is the point? Supplements and all the protein powders don't help. You can only absorb so much protein and use so much protein. Anything over that and you are getting into the production of ketones and making the kidneys unhappy. Same problem with the Atkins diet. We were made for carbohydrates as the most efficient source of energy.

You'll have more ATP available for anaerobic exercise bouts (creatine phosphate as an ATP source for muscles) than you normally would. That being said, your anaerobic endurance, however, will only be increased by a small percentage. You're better off exercising more over longer periods than using creatine for those few extra seconds of power lifting.

I agree, but why move it.. It could be a very relevant (spelling?) scenario on a USMLE type question!

I have heard that you will just urinate the extra creatine. If you are looking for a volume enhancing supplement, I recommend a vasodialator such as NO2 or pumptech. They cost allot but are awesome.

Creatine has some pretty tangible benefits. I'm surprised how dismissive people on this thread are being. I play rugby, and it definitely gives me an advantage on the field:

1. 5 pounds of extra water weight
2. Increased anaerobic endurance (more than "a few extra seconds")
3. Increased anaerobic strength/speed

The anaerobic endurance is probably the most important function. In addition to being less tired on the field, I can train (lifting and speed endurance) longer. For non-believers, I can back this all up with journal articles.

Re: the other stuff, creatine and a post-workout protein+sugar shake is all you need. Anything else, and you may as well just shell out some money for juice.

If you have questions about dietary supplements and their effect on your body, please consult with your physician.
