Can anyone explain what credentialing is? Does the employer basically check your credentials? Or is it basically a requirement to see patients with certain insurance? Does someone without a practice have to go through it?
Credentialing is the process where insurance companies and hospitals check your certification, education, license, and peer references via primary source verification. They check also for competency and run a sanctions check on you.
