Hi,
I graduated from university of Toronto. At UofT we have courses weighing as Full-year (1.0 credit) or Half-year (0.5 credit).

bio150 (1.00 credit, 52 hours of lecture + 36 hours of lab over 26 weeks)
organic-chem151 (1.00 credit, 78 hours of lecture + 36 hours of lab over 26 weeks)
Each of these courses is counted as 1.00 credit in UofT , and at the back of my transcript it is written that a course with a weight of 1.00 equals 6 semester hours and this doesn't include the LAB hours. Given 1 credit = 6 semester hours in my university, should I choose 6 semester hours or include my labs and choose 8 semester hours in the section that says “Enter number of credits ATTEMPTED”.
I am worried because if I choose 6 semester hours and the majority of dental schools look for 8 semester hours of required courses, then I am gonna be screwed.
Does AADSAS correct my mistakes when they review my transcript?
please tell me how to convert these courses .. I am very confused.
Any help is really appreciated

does anyone know the answer for this? I also went to UofT.

Im also a Canadian applicant and had the same question initially as all my science classes, which include labs, have been 3 credit courses. If you put on your transcript that your science classes were 3 or 6 credit courses the dental schools will know that they are the equivalent of half year or full year classes with labs. I wouldn't go putting 8 credits or 4 credits when the transcript wont show that. If you have concerns, contact the schools individually. It shouldn't be a problem. I did it that way and the places I've interviewed at so far didn't even bring it up. It wasn't a problem. Good luck.
