Does a credit score affect whether or not you can go to a Caribbean School? Is this looked at prior to receiving acceptance, or only when applying for loans?
Can you elaborate on this at all? Is this something that they look at when you apply? If you had a co-signer for loans would it be a problem? What kind of score are you talking about?

It is looked at when applying for loans. Acceptance is independent.
If your credit is less than perfect, try and find a creditworthy co-borrower. I managed to get through med. school using this route, as my credit was ruined by a Ballys gym (very common apparently....Fc*kers!)
One of my buddies who had good credit, also availed of a co-borrower even though he had good credit.....something about lower interest rates. The financial aid office at the school(s) you are applying to should be able to help you out with further details.
Unfortunately, I think this whole debacle with Aunt Sallie is going to throw a spanner in the works for many people, and will just make the whole financing issue even more convoluted. Good luck.
