Creighton acceptances

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
yeah, I got in. Heard back about a week after the interview. You can also check the acceptance thread. I know there are a couple other SDNers that have got in.

hello, can you guys tell me how long you waited post-secondary to hear about an interview? I've been waiting close to 2 months now and haven't heard anything. Thank you for the info.

I waited about 2 weeks after the secondary

For those of you who waited 2 weeks, were you in-state? For those of you from out-of state, what's your waiting like?

I'm an out of stater and I waited about 1 month post-secondary.

People who interviewed at Creighton, what were your impressions. What did you think about the facilities? Curriculum? Location? Other thoughts? I am curious what people thought of the school. How does it compare on your list of schools.

I thought Creighton was awesome...nice facilities, cool people, good philosophy...all in all it was much better than I expected...if I get in there that's where I am going and I think that would be a really solid move...I also interviewed at SLU, Downstate, and Drexel and Creighton was the best by far IMO...hope that helped

CU is a good school, good facilities and all the people were very nice, but the waitlist is too long. To actually get picked off I think is gonna be tough. Thus CU is not my first choice anymore I will have to pick UC over CU, I look much better on that list.

Just wanting to see if anyone here has heard back from Creighton about an acceptance. I haven't gotten any response post-interview.

I got accepted back in December; about 3 weeks after my interview.

As for hearing about interviews after sending in my secondary, I think it was about three weeks after I sent in my secondary. I'm from out of state by the way.

I interviewed with Creighton on March 26 (yeah, I applied a little late) and they decided on my acceptance on April 1. I didn't receive my letter until April 7, due to the fact that I live in FL. I can't wait to start in August, and I hope to see some of you there!

subscapularis - how long do you think the WL is?

MN girl,
Well I think at least 300 people are on the waitlist, I posted a possible waitlist scenario earlier, let me find it and I'll send it to you.

anybody heard from creighton off the waitlist? It should be coming soon..........

NO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING........... I'M BEGINNING TO FEEL AS IF CUs "GOOD MOVEMENT" IS NONEXISTENT

Also waiting on CU...

There was another Creighton thread where someone stated that the admissions committee was taking a 2 week vacation after which they would review files and begin making acceptance phone calls by mid-June.

So..., maybe that explains the silent treatment thus far 😉

I went by the admissions office today and theres a note up that said that Dr. Nippers thursday open hours had been cancelled for a couple of weeks including this weeks'. But he'll start them again on the 17th of June. Means that he prob is away till next week....
Hopefully some phonecalls will be made around then!

anyone off the waitlist yet????

still waiting, myself...

hopefully something soon 🙁

Dr. Nipper called me June 4th with an acceptance offer... I had to choose between CU and MCW and I finally chose CU, so it's official! Creighton S.O.M. class of 2008!!! I had been on the wait list since November so, I'm pretty happy.

I love Creighton... the atmosphere and spirit of the campus is really amazing. I did undergrad there and I will be happy and grateful to return for medical school. I think the program and facilities are great, they're finishing up a whole bunch of rennovations just in time for our class. Check out their match list, it's really pretty good.

Congrats OmahaMX80,
Maybe I'll see you next year! I'm jealous about the new anatomy lab you will be getting.

I'm sure you will. You might have seen me on interview day. I think I was in the second group of interviewees. Since we were all Creighton students everyone but myself and a couple of other applicants skipped out on the tour. Since it was just three of us they took us into the gross anatomy lab in full session... some girl thrust her cadaver's heart at me and her lab partners were like, "he's wearing a suit don't touch him with that." lol Guess ya had to be there.

I have removed myself from CUs waitlist. To give room and a better chance for people on the waitlist to get that letter or phone-call, that WE and EVERYONE else have dreamed about the past years.

I wish you all the BEST........ 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

I got in Creighton!! Very excited!! See you in the Fall!!

I have a ? for those accepted to Creighton recently... have you received your financial aid award and if so, did you find that it was 100% loans or did you get some grant money as well? I'm just wondering if all loans is the norm or if most get some grant money as well.

I think that nearly all of us are on 100% loans. There are a couple of grants, but I think that they are used for recruiting purposes.

...well, just knowing I'm not the only one who will be over 200k in debt is somewhat reassuring I suppose. 😱 Anyway, thanks for replying, I appreciate it.

Anyone know if they still have that housing website for the medical students?

anybody have waitlist news????

Still hope for everyone out there on a waitlist...I just got in yesterday...I think I am going to go...I am trying to decide between SUNY Downstate and Creighton...I have been into Downstate for a month and I was all set to go there, but I told myself a long time ago that I liked Creighton better...I equate this to already having a date to the prom that you would gladly go with and then at the last second a better, prettier girl wants to go with you and you are caught off guard a little...I dunno, that's just what it feels like...any advice? Thanks again and good luck to everyone out there still holding on, this stuff does happen...

What's the debt load difference btwn the two schools?

I was in a similar situation. I chose Creighton and I don't regret my decision at all. I would think back to why you told yourself you liked Creighton better, and then look at what you know about SUNY and go off of that. I chose Creighton primarily because I'm familiar with the institution and I am impressed by how nice everyone there is. Most schools say there is little competition and a lot of bonding among the students but I think Creighton is one of the few schools where that is actually true. Also, as you know, Creighton will be finishing up major renovations as the class of 2008 starts. I compared numbers, rankings, board pass rates, locations, etc., when I was making my decision. Finally I told myself, the next 4 years will be very intense and no matter where you go you'll get your M.D., and if you do well on your boards, etc., you'll get a good residency... so go where you will be the most happy, relaxed, etc. I hope that helps, good luck and congratulations!

I was accepted off the waitlist at Creighton on July 13th. I was expecting a phone call; however, the acceptance came through the mail. Needless to say I am overwhelmed with joy since this is my first acceptance. I just want to pass my joy on to other waitlistees: the waitlist is still moving.

 😍 🙂

just in case anyone is wondering...I will be going to creighton in the fall...well, provided that I pass my endocrinology final tomorrow and turn in my completed thesis by monday...good times, good times...I am really psyched, out of all the schools I interviewed at, creighton gave me the best feel by far...they seemed really dedicated to their students and everyone who i met seemed really happy to be there, unlike some other schools...although people think I am crazy for turning down being close to NYC for Nebraska, doesn't really bother me, I think I made the right choice in the end...good luck to everyone out there, can't wait to meet everybody in about 2 weeks...

vernio = ephman90...just my other name i post under...

For those going to Creighton, what lender are you going with for your stafford and alternative loans?

I use Wells Fargo for my stafford and access group for my private loans.

US Bank for Stafford sub and unsub, KeyBank for alternative.
