One of the schools I am looking at is Creighton, but I live on the west coast and never been there. Anyone that has been there have any positives that they really like? Also, I am not a catholic, doesn't matter to me, but is that a big influence on the student life? For example I know with Loma Linda they require their students to attend one service every week.

Thanks

I interviewed there last cycle and it quickly became one of my top choices. The school and town have blue-collar mentalities and its reflective in their program. For example, the D3/D4's had to wear ties to clinic and its one of the few institutions that practice what they preach as far as involvement in community service is concerned. The faith aspect, as they described, can have an influence on student life if you choose to participate in their community service activities but its not like you'll be attending catholic seminary (or anything like Loma Linda). The reason I chose not to attend was because it was roughly 18k more per year than my state school. Good news is - it's one of the cheapest OOS schools. Highly recommend Creighton.

I am a student at Creighton and have really loved my experience so far. I believe the clinic is its greatest strength. There are so many patients, you will get so much experience. The clinical requirements are much more than other dental schools. Also, there are no specialties so if your patient needs endo, oral surgery, etc. you will be the one doing it, not a resident. There are crosses and stuff in the school and we wear a shirt and tie, but besides that I couldn't tell it was a religious school.
