Creighton RDEP (UTAH)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I have heard of one student from BYU receiving an email this morning but otherwise I haven't heard anything. I am wondering wether Dr. Powell calls us or if we can call him to find out.

On predents, it shows one utah student was accepted, while I have heard of one other Utah student being waitlisted. Anyone know anything more about the RDEP accpetances??

Has anyone heard anything about the status of the Creighton RDEP acceptances?? Anyone??

I know of two people who got the email on Friday morning around 6:30 am.

They are from two different Utah schools.

All the RDEP slots are given out and they are waiting to see who bites, as per Dr. Powell.

Has anybody heard if alternates have been offered any spots?

I spoke with Dr. Powell a few days ago and he said that 8 out the original 10 put down deposits. Then I got a call last night from DP to let me know I'm in. I suspect the other one was given out last night also but can't be sure.

any new news on who is in the RDEP program? Any alternates accepted yet? Does anyone know how many Utah students are on the active alternate list?

I was accepted and turned it down back in December. I am curious to see the representation from all the different Utah schools.

Where are you going then? Congrats wherever. If you hear anything, please post.

How much does the RDEP program save you? I know when I applied, even with the money back, Creighton was still more expensive than a lot of schools out there, so I didn't even bother responding when they contacted me. Is it different now, or does the RDEP program still have such a wonderful stigma that nobody checks this out?

1st year tuition is $17,000, the same as the UofU medical students 1st year tuition.
2nd-4th years are at the standard creighton rates (~$40,000)

IF you come back to Utah and practice, then the state will refund you ~$17,000 per year.

So in the end, your total tuition will be less than $100,000. Approximately$86,000 to be as exact as I can. That is dirt-ass cheap. As far as the stigma, to be one of the top ten that are chosen from a great predent state such as Utah, that says a lot.
