I have been accepted to Creighton and am planning on going there. I'm trying to figure out where the best places to live are and the worst. I'm married so I'm not looking for something where you can share an apartment or room with 3 other people. I also want to know opinions or thoughts on Omaha? Only went for my interview and didn't really see much of anything except the school of course. My wife wants to be working while we're there so is it fairly easy to score a job?

Any advice/ tips/ thoughts would be great!

Thanks!

I'm in the same position as you, attending Creighton but did not even go to an interview there, so I'm gonna tag along on this thread

I will also be attending Creighton next semester. I plan on flying up there in the next few weeks to look at apartments, I'll let ya'll know what I see.

Hi future classmates! I emailed the school a little while ago and this was the reply I got about housing...

I have listed below a few options around town that would work although a couple of them are pricey. Some of the student live in lofts downtown in the Old Market area. IF you would like a roommate I keep a list of other accepted freshman that will be in your class that are interested in a roommate. I can add your name to the list with your email information. As the senior get ready to graduate some of them will be moving out of their apartments and will let me know so I can pass them along to you. Areas of town to avoid would be North and South Omaha. Midtown, Old Market, Southwest Omaha, Papillion, LaVista, Bellevue areas are all good areas. Most of them require you have a car and it is quite easy to get around in a car. Out transit system is not a system that you can rely on. The university has a shuttle system that runs within the university and areas fairly close but the areas are not all that great. Most dental students live between 10-20 minutes by car from the school.

These are a few of the places she suggested but they were rather pricey:
River Park Apartments (Just across the river into Iowa, 5 minutes from school,, many students live there)
Midtown Crossing only a few blocks south from school, new revamped area but can be pricey)
Aksarben Village (about 10-15 minutes from school. Nice area. Created about 5 years ago. Very popular but could be pricey)

I've been looking in the Dundee, LaVista, and Papillion areas. They're about 10-20 minutes from the clinic and more affordable.
