Creighton is much more well known and established but I don't want to live in Nebraska. Plus I'm an international student and worried about making friends as it lacks diversity. Hackensack seems great but very new?

Being from the Hackensack area, I can tel you the Hackensack Meridian group has extensive reach and is a major healthcare system in New Jersey. The hospital is well regarded in the area, along with in New York City, so that should help w its lack of reputation. My guess is the vast majority of matches will be in NJ and NY. Practicing physicians in the area have spoken well of it and believe it will be a well respected medical school once it has time to mature.

That being said, it is inevitably going to be prone to growing pains. Personally, I value prestige/ reputation highly, and wasn’t overly concerned about Hackensack being new when I applied. I’d still be happy to attend. That being said, I’m biased since I gree up in the area and, again, am familar with the hospital system and it’s reputation, whereas others may not be.

Don’t know much about Creighton, but Hackensack has my vote of confidence.

Don't know much about Hackensack, but I just visited Creighton - Omaha for admitted students day and honestly it wasn't that bad. Omaha is a mid-sized city with surprisingly a lot to do. It was clean, inexpensive, and honestly more diverse than I expected. Creighton itself is well regarded in the area based on interactions with locals and the students really liked it. They were chill, collaborative, and admin is really responsive. The facilities are nice, research is available (just not robust), and global health and service opportunities abound.

I was on the admitted students day too! I liked the campus but omaha is very small after living in boston. I just was thrown off by the fathers talk. I thought religion would be less of a topic after talking to student and them saying that it doesnt really come up.
